Community-Based Research Centre

Community-Based Research Centre (CBRC) promotes the health of people of diverse sexualities and genders through research and intervention development. CBRC was incorporated in 1999 and is a non-profit charitable organization. Their main office is located in Vancouver, British Columbia, and they also have satellite offices located in Edmonton, Toronto, and Halifax.

Introduction to Affirming Spaces is a series of three course modules for healthcare providers that offer insight into fostering affirming healthcare practices that better serve trans and gender-diverse patients.

Prescribing Gender-affirming Hormones

This course is for healthcare providers who wish to prescribe hormones for trans and gender diverse patients.

CATIE strengthens Canada’s response to HIV and hepatitis C by bridging research and practice. We connect healthcare and community-based service providers with the latest science, and promote good practices for prevention and treatment programs.

Available Trainings:

HIV Prevention

Throughout this course, participants will learn about the biology of HIV transmission, how social and structural factors influence HIV risk, and what highly effective HIV prevention strategies exist today, including the effect of HIV treatment and an undetectable viral load as a highly effective HIV prevention strategy.

HIV Treatment

Throughout this course, participants learn how HIV treatment works in the body, what being on HIV treatment means, how HIV develops drug resistance and how to support clients with adherence.
